Time Travel To Bethlehem This Year

For the past eight years, the Cornerstone Church, located on the north side of Spooner on highways 53/63, has invited the public to walk the streets of Bethlehem and discover life as it was on the night of Jesus’ birth.

This self-guided, interactive event includes live animals, an angelic announcement, craftsman at work both inside and out, authentic food, townspeople and business owners hawking their wares along with a live nativity and refreshments.

With a donation to the food pantry, visitors are rewarded with a leather pouch filled with the coin of the realm to use freely for purchase of any number of crafts and unique foods.

Out of this congregation of 175, there are 80 in the cast and 40 more support staff that not only help with set up and take down, make-up and costumes, but they also make sure there is supper for the cast each of the three performance times along with refreshments for visitors.

During this time, Cornerstone’s regular church services are held at the Spooner High School for two weeks, freeing up their own facility for the total transformation from church sanctuary into a starry night in Bethlehem bustling with life as we know it over two thousand years ago.

You are invited to join from 900 to 1100 other visitors to experience this extraordinary event held this year on Friday, December 2 from 4-8 pm; Saturday, December 3 from 4-7 pm; and on Sunday, December 4 from 4-7 pm.

If you’d like more information, please call the Cornerstone Church at 715-635-9222.
