SAWYER COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A routine traffic stop outside Stone Lake led to the discovery of significant quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine, and ultimately a felony conviction, after authorities say a Minnesota man was found transporting drugs concealed in his vehicle and on his person.

Ryan Swanson, 39, of Rogers, Minnesota, was stopped in February 2025 for expired registration. This stop escalated into a drug investigation ending with his arrest and the seizure of fentanyl and methamphetamine. Nearly a year later, Swanson was convicted of felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and sentenced in Sawyer County Circuit Court.
