Polk County Sheriff's Department and the St. Croix Valley Drug Task Force executed a no-knock search warrant on November 7th, 2016.
According to documents, investigators obtained a search warrant for purposes of searching Clay Strenke's residence, outbuildings and vehicles.
Officers located Strenke inside the residence and immediately detained him. Strenke confirmed to officers that he lived in the residence with his juvenile son.
As a result of the search, officers found several firearms, including rifles and shotguns; numerous live rounds of rifle and shotgun ammunition matching the caliber of firearms located in the residence; and many items of drug paraphernalia which tested positive for methamphetamine.
It was confirmed by officers that at least two of the firearms found in Strenke's residence matched a property list of firearms previously seized from Strenke in 2011 and later released to one of his associates.
Public record confirms that Strenke was convicted of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine in 2008; and Felon in Possession of a Firearm in 2012; making it illegal for him to possess any firearms.
Charges were filed in Polk County Circuit Court on November 8th, 2016 against Clay Strenke for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 6 charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections public website, Strenke is still currently under active supervision of Probation and Parole.
Strenke was placed on a $10,000 cash bond and is due back in Polk County Circuit Court on November 29th, 2016.
