Two Adults Killed, Three Juveniles Injured In Burnett County Crash

BURNETT COUNTY — Two adults were killed and several others, including three juveniles, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning, according to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office.

On December 7, 2025 at 9:32 a.m., Burnett County Dispatch received a call of a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 48/87 south of Assembly Road in the Town of Anderson. Law Enforcement, EMS and Fire Department personnel responded.

Investigation revealed that a black Toyota van was travelling southbound on State Highway 48/87. The van was going around a curve and went onto the shoulder. It appeared the van over-corrected and went into the path of a red Jeep that was travelling northbound on State Highway 48/87 causing the vehicles to collide.

The adult driver and front passenger of the Toyota were pronounced deceased at the scene.

There were three juvenile passengers in the Toyota. They were all taken to a Twin Cities hospital for further medical care. One was flown from the scene. Another was transported to Burnett Medical Center and flown from there. The third juvenile was transported by private vehicle to Burnett Medical Center and later transported by ambulance.

The adult driver and passenger in the red Jeep were taken to Burnett Medical Center by private vehicle for their injuries.

No names will be released at this time.

The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Grantsburg Police Department, Grantsburg Fire Department, North Ambulance, North Air Care, Life Link Air Care and the Burnett County Medical Examiner’s Office.
