Two Decades Later: Sawyer County Authorities Renew Call For Information On Andrew Bliss' Disappearance

SAWYER COUNTY - The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office issued the following information on Tuesday, the 20th anniversary of Andrew Bliss' last sighting and appeals for public assistance.

On June 20th 2003, a vehicle with no occupants in it was reported on the side of Forest Road 162 in the Township of Draper just north of State Highway 70. The reporting party first noticed the vehicle at approximately 8:00 that morning while on their way to work. The reporting party had also seen someone hiking or walking in the vicinity of the vehicle. When the reporting party was on their way home from work around 5:00 pm that same day, the vehicle was still on Forest Road 162. Law enforcement was dispatched to the area regarding the nature of the vehicle located on the road with no one in it.

When law enforcement arrived on scene, the vehicle was looked through in an attempt to identify the owner of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was determined to be Andrew R. Bliss DOB: 12/26/1979. Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, Sawyer County Search and Rescue, and the Sawyer County SWAT team assisted in searching the area for Andrew. Andrew was not located despite many search efforts.

June 20th 2023 marks 20 years since Andrew was last seen. There are still unanswered questions as to what happened that day 20 years ago by family and law enforcement.
