Update: Man Arrested in Polk Co. on Failure to Appear Warrant in Burnett Co.

POLK COUNTY, Wis. -- A Grantsburg, WI man has been arrested in Polk County on a failure to appear warrant that was issued for his arrest in Burnett County Circuit Court on May 15, 2017.

According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office probable cause report, Alan Schwartzbauer of Grantsburg, WI was located in Polk County after an incident in which he drove his vehicle into a ditch.

On May 16, 2017, a Polk County Sheriff's Deputy observed a vehicle in a ditch. He stopped to render aid. The driver identified himself as ' Alan J. Henry, and stated that the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend, 'Sheldon', who was at work at Menards. The man told the deputy that he had a valid drivers license for Wisconsin, however, the deputy was unable to locate a Wisconsin DMV record for an Alan J. Henry. The man then stated that his girlfriend's name was actually 'Shasta and advised that he did not possess a driver's license.

The report stated that due to the suspicious circumstances, and the man's changing story, the deputy took the man into custody until his identity could be confirmed.

The deputy took the man to Menards and spoke with management, who advised they did not have an employee by the name of Shasta. At this point, another deputy was able to positively identify the man as Alan J. Schwartzbauer and confirmed that there was an active warrant for Schwartzbauer's arrest in Burnett County.

Deputies advised Schwartzbauer that he was being placed under arrest for obstruction and for the Burnett County arrest warrant.

A search was also obtained for the vehicle that Schwartzbauer was found with and a wooden pipe for smoking marijuana was found in the vehicle.

Public record shows that charges have been filed in Polk County Circuit Court against Schwartzbauer for Obstructing an Officer. He appeared on May 19, 2017.

Polk County Sheriff Peter Johnson confirmed to DrydenWire.com that Schwartzbauer is currently in Polk County Jail on hold awaiting transportation to Burnett County for an appearance on his warrant there.

Update: Warrant Issued for Man Facing Felony Meth Charges

BURNETT COUNTY, Wis. -- A warrant has been issued for a man facing felony meth charges in Burnett County Circuit Court.

According to public record, Alan Schwartzbauer, of Grantsburg, WI, failed to appear for his court hearing on Monday, May 15, 2017. The Court issued a warrant for Schwartzbauer's arrest.

DrydenWire reported on this story on March 27, 2017. The Burnett County Sheriff's Office stopped a car for speeding in the Township of Grantsburg and throughout the course of the traffic stop located drug paraphernalia and multiple gem bags containing methamphetamine and marijuana.

The other individual in the car at the time, Kayla Evans, was also charged criminally with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 3 counts of Felony Bail Jump. Public record shows that another criminal case was filed against Evans on April 24, 2017, in Burnett County Circuit Court charging her with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, 2 counts of Felony Bail Jump, and 1 count of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Evan is also charged with 1 count of Misdemeanor Theft of Movable Property in a criminal case filed on March 24, 2017.

Evans is scheduled to appear in court again on June 14, 2017.

Public record also shows that another criminal complaint was filed on April 24, 2017, against Schwartzbauer in Burnett County Circuit Court charging him with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, 2 counts of Felony Bail Jump, and 1 count of Misdemeanor Bail Jump. A third criminal complaint was previously filed against Schwartzbauer in Burnett County Circuit Court on April 27, 2016, charging him with 2 counts of Misdemeanor Retail Theft.
