Press Release

The Barron County Sheriff’s Department is still searching Red Cedar Lake for a 55 yr old male subject that went missing, we believe, sometime Sunday evening on the water. His boat was recovered Monday morning on the shore with no one in it.

Today we are receiving assistance in searching the lake from the WI DNR, Polk CO Sheriff’s Office, Dunn Co Sheriff’s Office, and Shell Lake FD. Total of 9 boats on the water. Again if you are out on this lake please stay aware of our concentrated search areas and operate with no wake.

Special thanks to the Loch Lomond Beach Club for allowing us to their facility as our command post today. Also thanks to Bear Tracks Bar and Grill for providing supper for us last night.
