UPDATE: Missing Washburn County Girl Reported To Be Okay

UPDATE: Missing Washburn County Girl Reported To Be Okay

A 14-year old girl, Jaclyn Taylor, reported missing from her Washburn County home since Saturday, Sept. 3, is believed to be safe and okay, according to Washburn County Chief Deputy Mike Richter.

Chief Deputy Richter said the sheriff’s office has been in contact with the father and the grandmother and they report that the girl is fine and doesn’t need anything.

“This is a disagreement between the mother and father who are separated,” Richter said. “But the father hasn’t provided a location of her whereabouts.”

Chief Richter said it’s a custody issue that hasn’t been brought into family court yet.

At first it was believed that Jaclyn may have been at a family member’s residence on St. Croix tribal lands either in Danbury or Hertel because she has a lot of family there. Richter said police have checked and she’s not at any of those locations.

The mother reported her as a missing runaway/juvenile. Jaclyn is 5’1 with a thin build, weighs 95 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Washburn County Sheriff Dryden states that, “Anyone harboring or otherwise hiding this young girl from Law Enforcement is subject to arrest for Felony Interference with Custody of a Child. Law enforcement is in the process of pursuing that path. So if anyone is harboring this girl I suggest you bring her in to the Washburn County Sheriff's Office or Tribal Police in Hertel."
