WASHBURN COUNTY -- On Friday, September 25, 2020, the Spooner Area School District issued a news release stating there was an incident involving a community member and a middle school student that took place on school grounds the previous day.
Today, The Spooner Police Department says that a suspect has been taken into custody, according to a press release from the SPD.

On 09-25-2020, the Spooner Police Department conducted an investigation, regarding an incident that happened at the Spooner Middle School. A student reported being contacted by a male subject, on school grounds, during after school activities.
An investigation conducted by Spooner Police Department and Washburn County Human Services resulted in a male being taken into custody. The suspect was then transfered to a medical facility.
Charges are forwarded to the Washburn County District Attorney's Office for False Imprisonment of a Child.
There is no threat to the public safety at this time.
