BURNETT COUNTY -- The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office has issued the following update on the fatal UTV crash in Burnett County.

On August 24, 2021, the Burnett County Medical Examiner’s Office received positive confirmation that the male that died operating the UTV on August 21, 2021, in the Town of Swiss, is Kurt Kowarsch, 42, of Stacy, Minnesota.
Kurt was a Patrol Sergeant and 14-year veteran with the Forest Lake Police Department. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
