USH 53 Construction Weekly Update #2

Here is the weekly update for the USH 53 NB project from Spooner to Minong in Washburn County. 

Currently, the driving lane is closed from the 1st 6 miles of the project from approx. Whalen Lake Road to Palmer Road. The driving lane will remain closed until next Monday morning when we will switch to a passing lane closure in the same section. During the closures, the speed limit is reduced to 55 mph. 

Mattison started pipes last week, and are continuing pipe work this week.They have completed pipe work on all 3 pipes that required a temporary bypass to complete the work. (Stuntz Brook and Chicog Creek/Tributary) They will continue pipe work for the next several weeks. 

Monarch should be done milling the 1st 6 miles by the end of the day, started patching yesterday, and will have the lower layer paved on mainline and the turn lanes/intersections by Saturday. They will repeat the process in the passing lane next week.
