Vehicle Rollover in Barron County Leads to OWI Arrest

Vehicle Rollover in Barron County Leads to OWI Arrest

An early morning roll-over this past weekend near the township of Dovre between Chetek and New Auburn, lead to one man being charged with OWI.

At 4:28 A.M., Saturday morning, April 29, 2017, Barron County Dispatch received a call from Josh Lanham reporting that he had swerved to miss a deer in the road and put his 1995 Tahoe into the ditch near SS and 5th ave, according to the Barron County dispatch log.

Chetek Fire and EMS were paged, and when Law Enforcement arrived at the scene, the vehicle was “fully engulfed” in flames.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told DrydenWire.com that Lanham, of Colfax, went into the ditch and left the car and went to work where he called Barron County to tell them about the incident.

It is unknown what caused the vehicle to burst into flames, but Fitzgerald said that there is nothing suspicious about the fire.

The Sheriff said that Lanham was arrested a short time later at his place of work in Chetek for OWI.

No injuries were reported.
