DrydenWire.com posted the final Washburn County results (which can be viewed by clicking image below) early this morning around 1 A.M. Now looking at the numbers a little more closely, it is clear that Washburn County had a lot of love for Republican candidates.
Here are the results of the the 4 big races in and the results from Washburn County.
Donald Trump won Washburn County 5,404 over Hillary Clinton's 3,283 votes. President-elect Trump swept every municipality (townships, villages & cities), winning the cities of Shell Lake (363 to 319) and Spooner (613 to 444).
Republican Senator Ron Johnson handely defeated Democaratic Candidate Russ Feingold: 5,243 to 3,407. Senator Johnson, like President-elect Trump, also had a clean sweep of the 24 municipalities in Washburn County.
Republican Congressman Sean Duffy also defeated Democratic challenger Mary Hoeft 5,327 to 3,556, and continuted the trend of Republican's winning every municipality.
Finally, in the 75th district race for Wisconsin State Assembly, Romaine Quinn defeated Joe Huftel 2,507 to 1,636; winning 11 of the 12 municipalities that were able to vote - losing only to the town of Stone Lake.
Washburn County had a turnout of 9,254 against the estimated eligable voters 12,828, resulting in a 72.14% turnout.
