All are invited to be a part of the Washburn County Area Humane Society's Christmas for Critters Tree of Lights extra special celebration to honor the 10,000 animals that have had the opportunity to go through the door of the Shelter since the building opened in 2000. Not only will there be the special tree at the Shelter but there will be a special gathering at Spooner Market and Grill on Thurs., Dec. 1, with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages and a cash bar available.
The Thimbles Quilt Shop group have made and donated mitten ornaments to sell as is or prize-filled. Cash, gift cards, gift baskets, a hand-made quilt and a handcrafted cribbage table are only a few options of the prizes to be won. Mitten sale money will be used for the improvement of the cat and dog play areas and completion of the pet cemetery.
The WCAHS Shelter tree will be adorned with personalized ornaments and a light will be lit for your special companion who may be a fond memory or who still lights up your life every day. To remember your special pet, a form is available for your tax-deductible donation on www.wcahs.com , by calling 715-635-4720 for a mailed form or by stopping at 1400 Cottonwood Ave., Spooner. Whether you complete and mail or bring in the form or bring it with you to the Tree of Lights, your generosity is always very appreciated.
