For the little town Shell Lake with their own beautiful lake, airport and two museums, people have been busy with lots of improvements and new innovations.
Becky’s Food & Spirits will be back in business this summer and back under the management of Larry Alt. He is now taking applications for cooks, servers and bartenders. 715-296-3430
The Dollar General is waiting for Monarch Paving to be able to hard-surface their driveways and parking lots so they can get their certificate of occupancy. Monarch is waiting until the weather is more conducive to pouring cement. Meanwhile, you can still apply online if you’re looking for a position with them. They hope to open in July.
The Shell Lake Lions Club made an easy 10k at their auction and with the City of Shell Lake kicking in 7k from their general fund, construction on the front sidewalk and entryway will be starting and a new fridge and new front doors are on the list of improvements.
As soon as the weather warms up and stays that way, the Public Works department will be blacktopping roads and alleys in town so prepare for detours. They plan to stretch the work out all summer as not to have to close too many roads at the same time.
There will be an information kiosk going up near the famous Shell Lake fish in Memorial Park containing brochures with a beautiful mosaic on each side of the kiosk thanks to Brickyard Pottery’s Mary Dosch and her talented group of artists.
Before Memorial Day the city will be hanging their new across-the-highway banner advertizing the July events and then it will go up again before Labor Day advertizing Town and Country Days. Look for it on the south side of town.
Last, but certainly not least, Mike and Vickie Swan from Hayward will be the campground managers this year.
