SPOONER - As the annual Washburn County Photo Contest came to a close on August 31st, Executive Director of Tourism, Michelle Martin, had received an extraordinary amount of amazing photos for the contest. This was a record year for entries with a total count of 156 photos. This year the judging panel had a difficult time choosing between entries and decided to extend to an Honorable Mention and Post Card Photo winner on top of First, Second, and Third Place.
Washburn County Tourism Association (WCTA) would like to sincerely thank each and every person who took time to enter photos in the contest. “We always love to see visitors and residents enjoying this beautiful county that we are lucky enough to call home,” stated Michelle Martin. Although we could only choose a few photos to be winners in the contest, many of the other entries will be used on our website, social media, and advertisements to promote the area.
As for the winners, WCTA would like to congratulate Peter Fruehling on winning 1st Place & the Post Card Photo, Beth Kujala on 2nd Place, Pamela K. Bruder on 3rd Place, and Kyle Tyree with an Honorable Mention. Washburn County Tourism invites you to stop into the Visitor Center in Spooner, WI any time after October 1st to view the printed version of these photos.
