WASHBURN COUNTY (DrydenWire) - Authorities responded to a Spooner, WI, residence in August 2020 for a report of a non-responsive male. After multiple doses of Narcan, the man, identified as Dustin Martin, then of Cumberland, WI, began breathing and was able to speak.
Charges were later filed against Martin for Possession of Methamphetamine. He failed to appear for a court hearing, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. A second criminal case was filed against him in 2024, charging him with bail jumping, and a third criminal case was filed against him in 2025, charging him with eleven counts of felony failure to pay child support.
A second man, Jeremy Englund, also received charges following the overdose incident, and he was later sentenced in 2022 to serve probation on his conviction of Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
Warrants for Martin’s arrest due to failure to appear in court were active in all three court cases when he appeared in Washburn County Circuit Court on December 2, 2025, for a return on warrant.
Martin, age 41, now of Northfield, MN, appeared last in Washburn County while in custody on December 16, 2025, and was sentenced on felony convictions from his multiple court cases.
