MADISON, WI — Governor Tony Evers has announced the search for applicants to fill the position of Rusk County Sheriff, following the upcoming retirement of Sheriff Jeffery Wallace. Wallace’s retirement, effective April 1, 2025, will leave a vacancy for the remainder of his term, which is set to expire in January 2027.
Qualified individuals interested in serving as the Rusk County Sheriff are encouraged to apply through the official application process. The “Register of Deeds, Coroner, and Sheriff” application form is available on the “Apply to Serve” section of Gov. Evers’ website at www.evers.wi.gov. Completed applications must be submitted no later than 5:00p on Friday, January 31, 2025.
