SAWYER COUNTY — A Hayward, WI, man is facing multiple felony drug charges following an investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office into alleged methamphetamine trafficking in the Hayward area.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Sawyer County Circuit Court, 30-year-old Jeffery Splain, Jr., of Hayward, is accused of repeatedly traveling to the St. Paul, Minnesota area to obtain methamphetamine and distributing it locally, including through controlled buys arranged by law enforcement.

Splain, who recently resided in Shell Lake, WI, is also currently charged in Washburn County Circuit Court with felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

He is now charged with multiple felony counts and remains in custody on a $10,000 cash bond as the case moves forward in Sawyer County.
