Wisconsin Man Arrested For 7th OWI

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY -- A Wisconsin man has been arrested for his Operating While Under the Influence (7th), Possession of Meth, THC, and Drug Paraphernalia after authorities responded to a report of a man passed out in his vehicle, according to a press release from the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office.

(Press Release) — On Monday, 07/01/19, at approximately 9:36pm, the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office responded to the 3000 block of London Rd, in the Township of Washington, for a report of a male subject passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle.  Deputies arrived in the area and observed the suspect vehicle traveling on London Rd.  Deputies observed the vehicle enter a parking lot and strike a curb as it pulled into a parking stall.

Deputies contacted the driver, identified as 47 year old Randy Promer, of Eau Claire.  After an investigation, Promer was found to be impaired, and was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence.  It was determined that Promer had six prior convictions for Operating While Under the Influence.

Promer was eventually booked into the Eau Claire County Jail for OWI (7th), Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a Probation Hold.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
