Wisconsin Man Arrested For OWI-2nd With Minor Passenger, Possession Of THC

DOUGLAS COUNTY — A 33-year-old male was arrested for driving under the influence (2nd Offense) with two minor children in the vehicle after authorities detected an odor of marijuana following a traffic stop, according to a press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

(Press Release) — Chadwick J. Christensen, 33 years of age, from Crandon, WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 2nd offense, with two children in the vehicle under the age of 16.

On Thursday, August 1st, 2019 at approximately 12:06 p.m., a Wisconsin State Trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding on HWY 35 near East Engine Road. Upon initial contact with the driver, the Trooper detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed two young children as occupants of the vehicle. The driver was identified as Chadwick J. Christensen, M/W age 33, from Crandon, Wisconsin. A subsequent investigation revealed the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance.

Christensen was arrested and charged with OWI-2nd with minor passengers, Possession of THC, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The children were released to a responsible adult.

"Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty."
