SAWYER COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A Sawyer County man is facing a felony child abuse charge following a disturbing investigation into the alleged physical abuse of a young child that authorities say occurred over several months.
According to a criminal complaint, Michael Arpan, 62, of Couderay, WI, is accused of repeatedly inflicting physical punishment on a child under the age of 10, including striking the child and leaving bruises and making the child run stairs with a weighted backpack, prompting a forensic interview, the child’s removal from the home, and criminal charges now moving through Sawyer County Circuit Court.
