POLK COUNTY — A fatal three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 35 near Milltown has led to criminal charges after investigators determined a driver was actively using the social media app Snapchat in the minutes leading up to the collision, according to the criminal complaint.
The crash occurred just before 3:30 p.m. on May 23, 2025, when a northbound Ram pickup driven by 24-year-old Braeden Siebenthal of Frederic struck a Mazda that had slowed for traffic, crossed the center line, and collided head-on with a southbound Chevrolet driven by Maria Scheider of Grantsburg.
