BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A pedestrian was seriously injured early on November 2, 2025, after being struck and pinned beneath a vehicle near Sweeney’s Bar in Lincoln Township, prompting a major response from Burnett County law enforcement and emergency crews.

Law enforcement received information of a possible second vehicle being involved in the incident; however, no evidence was located at the scene. Law enforcement received several tips regarding two separate white SUVs that may have been in the area at the time of this incident. Further investigation, including interviews, forensic testing, and other evidence, indicated that neither of those vehicles was involved.

Felony charges for operating while intoxicated and causing injury have now been filed against the driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Luke Beechler of Webster, Wisconsin.
