Wisconsin Man Found Guilty Of Arson At Congressman’s Office Over TikTok Ban

WISCONSIN -- A Wisconsin man has been found guilty of arson after setting fire to a congressman’s office in protest of the TikTok ban, according to a press release from Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney.

Today District Attorney Eric J. Toney announced that Caiden Stachowicz entered a no “no contest” plea and was found guilty of Count 1, Arson, which is a Class C felony. Stachowicz faces a maximum possible penalty of 25 years of initial confinement and 15 years of extended supervision, and fine up to $100,000. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 5, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in front of Judge Tricia Walker.

District Attorney Toney stated: “Political violence has no place in society and we will aggressively prosecute anyone that commits or attempts to commit violence against government officials, regardless of their political affiliation, to protect our democratic process.”

This case was investigated by the City of Fond du Lac Police Department, with assistance from the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, and prosecuted by District Attorney Eric Toney.
