POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A Polk County, WI, criminal court case stemming from a suspicious death reported at a local hospital has now reached its conclusion.
What initially appeared to be a medical emergency involving multiple traumatic injuries and internal bleeding later unfolded into a criminal investigation, ultimately resulting in a felony charge against the victim’s husband, Frank Steward, age 55, of Balsam Lake, WI.
Steward was sentenced for homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle at a court hearing on December 19, 2025.
