BURNETT, POLK COUNTY — According to filings in both Polk County Circuit Court and Burnett County Circuit Court, Timothy Ainley, 61, of Grantsburg, now faces an expanding list of felony and misdemeanor charges spanning two counties, from a fourth-offense OWI, and multiple bail jumping counts to allegations of child abuse, illegal firearm possession, and hunting violations.

The latest cases stem from a late-December traffic stop on Highway 35 near Milltown and a January child abuse investigation at his Burnett County residence. At the time of both incidents, Ainley was already out on multiple felony bail bonds for previously filed criminal charges, including a 2024 drug raid, with court-ordered conditions prohibiting alcohol use and criminal activity.

Despite those conditions, authorities say Ainley was operating a motor vehicle allegedly under the influence of intoxicants and with open intoxicants in the vehicle, and had at his residence a loaded .22 caliber rifle, even though a prior felony conviction barred him from possessing firearms.
