WASHBURN COUNTY / SAWYER COUNTY — A Radisson, WI, man is facing multiple felony charges in Washburn County Circuit Court following a string of alleged incidents occurring in Spooner, WI.
The first incidents date back to May 27, 2026, when numerous guests of the Best Western Hotel in Spooner, WI, were awoken in the early morning hours by loud sounds described as possible gunshots when over a dozen ground-floor windows were shattered. Minutes later, a glass door at the Kwik Trip North Convenience store in Spooner was shattered.
Authorities allege Brandon Fones (35) was found on foot near a Kwik Trip with a hammer concealed under his sweatshirt and blood on his clothing. He now faces additional felony charges after police identified him as the suspect in a July 2026 theft of a Honda Pilot from downtown Spooner.
Fones, who was also facing felony criminal damage charges in Sawyer County Circuit Court, was sentenced on August 12, 2026, on his Sawyer County case.
