Judge Lazar recently announced her candidacy for the open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court on October 1st. In her announcement, Lazar emphasized her commitment to restoring integrity and impartiality to the state’s highest court.
“We need to draw a line in the sand and stop the destruction of our courts, especially our State Supreme Court,” Judge Lazar said in her campaign release. “I am an independent, impartial judge who strives to follow the law and Constitution in every decision I make from the bench. It is time to restore that level of judicial dedication to the Court.”
Judge Lazar has served on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals since 2022. She was first elected to the Waukesha County Circuit Court in 2015, where she served seven years. Prior to becoming a judge, Lazar worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the Wisconsin Department of Justice and spent more than two decades in private legal practice.
She and her husband, Tom, live in Waukesha County and have two adult children.
