SPOONER WIS --To honor International Women’s Day, on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, a local event was held in Centennial Park in Spooner and drew about 35 women, men, children, and one dog, according to organizers.
“We had a great time celebrating the 108th year of International Women’s Day,” event organizers said. “There was a great turnout, and we would like to thank the overwhelming support of community members with their countless honks and thumbs up as they drove by!”
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
