Work Begins on Spooner’s Elm Street

The City of Spooner has begun work on the heavily trafficked Elm Street in Spooner, Wisconsin.

The work is being done near the intersection of Elm and Bashaw (east of the Spooner Police Department and west of the Spooner Middle School).

The City says the reason for the work is to remove the beat-up road and replace it with new blacktop.

Since they are already ripping up the old road, they are also replacing the water and sewage lines underneath.

Due to the nice weather this week, the project is going smoothly and they are anticipating having the water and sewage lines completed and the first layer of blacktop down by the 4th of July. The second layer of blacktop will then be placed in the fall.
