Northwind Book & Fiber in downtown Spooner is hosting an all day yarn event, the fourth annual Yarnapalooza, on Saturday, August 19th from 9 to 5.
Knitters and crocheters are invited to come for all or part of the day. A series of free demos and classes will be held:
- 10 a.m. Learn Tunisian Crochet (bring a hook and scrap yarn)
- 11 a.m. Design Inspiration—Denise DeGidio will demonstrate design techniques on a portable frame loom
- 12 p.m. Learn to Crochet with Carol McDowall
- 1 p.m. Fixing Knitting Mistakes with Jennifer Kunselman
- 2 p.m. Knit a Flower Embellishment (bring needles and scrap yarn).
- 3 p.m. Learn to Knit (continental style)
A trunk show is running now through August 19th, featuring garments made from Malabrigo Yarns—beautiful merino wool from South America.
There will be a sample sale of scarves, hats, and cowls in discontinued yarns.
