'You Are Not Alone Initiative' Announced for Residents Affected By Recent Tornado

'You Are Not Alone Initiative' Announced for Residents Affected By Recent Tornado

On May 30th and May 31st, Barron County staff members will be visiting all 270 residents that reported damage from the recent tornado. This initiative is to ensure every resident knows that your local government cares about you as an individual, and we're here to help you through the rebuilding process.

During this site visit, we will provide you with a “Tornado Recovery Packet” that was specifically created to guide you through the rebuilding process. Topics include replacing your driver's license and social security card, where to take storm debris, how to secure your home, important contact numbers, helpful recovery tips, and frequently asked questions. It also provides resources for food, clothing, housing, and household goods.

In addition, we will discuss any unmet needs you may have. This helps us ensure no community member is left behind. Our goal is educate our residents on services available to them, and to be a resource as you walk down the path of rebuilding.

These property visits will occur this Tuesday and Wednesday between 12:00pm and 8:00pm. Please know all staff members will be wearing a Barron County ID badge, and we will have an increased officer presence in the area.

If you're not home, we will leave an instruction sheet on your door that outlines who to contact.

If you have unreported tornado damage, please contact us at 715-637-6732 so we can include you in the damage assessment.
