In Memory of Alexander C. Moen

Alexander Craig Moen, age 17, of Prairie Farm, WI died Tuesday, November 1, 2022 in rural Clear Lake, WI.

Alex was born May 31, 2005 to Jolene (Haller) Schmitz and Steven Moen in Eau Claire, WI.

He attended Prairie Farm Schools before recently completing his HSED through Northwood Technical College. He was planning to attend Northwood Tech next fall to pursue welding. Alex was a smart, kind and caring kid. He will be remembered for his smile, laugh and hugs. They are already so greatly missed. Alex loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish and shed hunt. Alex inherited his Dad’s love of derbying and you could often find him working on a derby car in the summer months if he wasn’t fishing. He loved his family and friends more than anything and spent as much time with them as possible.

Alex was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Craig Moen, maternal grandmother: Carol Harrison, great-grandparents: Vernon & Gerene Moen and Dennis & Florence Doerr.

He is survived by his mother and step-father: Jolene and Jason Schmitz of Elk Mound, WI, father: Steven Moen of Prairie Farm, WI, brothers: JJ and Jameson Schmitz of Elk Mound, Shane Moen of Prairie Farm and Mason Thompson of Nelson, WI, grandmother: Gerry Moen of Prairie Farm, Aunts: Crystal (Jake) Hutchison of Prairie Farm and Misty (Matt) Hoff of Barron, uncle: Denver (Kori) Moen of Prairie Farm, cousins: Jordan, Evan and Alayna Hutchison, Natalie and Hayden Hoff and Karson and Emersyn Moen, as well as many more extended relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, November 7th at First Lutheran Church of Arland with Rev. Tim Vettrus officiating and interment following in Independent Cemetery in the Town of Arland. A visitation will be held from 3-7 pm on Sunday, November 6th as well as an hour prior to the service on Monday, both at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
