Al Andersen was born on October 3, 1930 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He attended High School in St Croix Falls, obtained his bachelor’s degree at the U of North Dakota and his master’s degree from Colorado State College.

He served with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1953-1955, becoming a Master Parachutist.

Al began his teaching career in 1955 as a physical education teacher and coach at Turtle Lake High School, then at Unity High School in 1961.

Al was an accomplished artist, painting for fun, painting commissioned requests, and sharing his talents as gifts, which are treasured by anyone and everyone who were on the receiving end. In 1975 he joined John Deere Corporation, where he held many leadership positions.

Al and Linda were married on September 3, 1983, and lived in Minnesota, Balsam Lake, and several locations in Florida.

Al left this world on July 17th at the age of 95, having lived a very full life with many stories of experiences with his many friends and family members.

Al is survived by Linda, his loving wife of 40+ years, his daughter Teri Green (Jim), son Wayne Andersen (Sharon), grandsons Jake and Nick, granddaughters Kelly and Abby, and 9 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind extended family, and too many friends to count.
