September 5, 1917 - June 14, 2017

Anita I. Moore, age 99, died on June 14, 2017 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner, WI.  Graveside service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 19, 2017.  Memorials to the Brookfield First Christian Church of Disciples of Christ and may be left at the service or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, 1201 W. Helm, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Anita was born September 5, 1917 in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Leon Frances LaSarge and Christina Elemeta Eversol.  She married Joseph B. “Ben” Moore on March 27, 1937

Mrs. Moore graduated from Savanna Illinois High School.  She was employed an LPN in Hannibal and Brookfield, MO.  She also worked McLarney and Pershing Memorial Hospitals and was Administrator for ten years at Whitehaven Nursing Home.  She retired in 1978 and began her career of volunteering for which she was recognized by the State of Missouri as Volunteer of the Year.  She is a member of the Brookfield First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.  Anita was a member of several card clubs and loved bingo. 

Survivors include her daughter, Doris Anne (Janine) Washburn of Sarona, WI; a grandson, Dennis William (Toni) Moore of Independence, MO; a granddaughter, Laura Barker of Independence, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Ben on April 28, 1981; her son, Joseph B. “Joe” Moore Jr.; two sisters, Adele Arb and Lela Irion; and her brothers, Kyle Swift and Paul Swift.
