In Memory of Anita M. Jacobson

February 18, 1933 - April 17, 2025

– She is free and in the arms of our loving God -

Our mother was born on February 18, 1933 to William and Marybell Thompson in Rochester, MN. She was proceeded in death by William Thompson, Marybell Thompson (Parents) and Bill Jacobson (Son). She married our dad, Albin (Jake) Jacobson on June 24,1950 and they moved to Hastings, MN and had five beautiful children. Bill, Mike, Cindy, Jeanine and Dora.

Our mother loved her family and community; she would do anything for anyone at any time! BEST mom, grandma, great grandma, wife and friend. She loved creating memories with family and she was a troop leader for the Girl Scouts.

She was a stay-at-home “family manager” until Dora went to kindergarten and she began her career at Smead Manufacturing as an administrative secretary.

After retirement our parents relocated to Siren, WI where they built a home in the woods on Viola Lake. Punky quickly became an active member in the Church and her deep faith ensued with creating several wonderful friendships. Volunteering at the church was something our mother loved – these lovely ladies spent time quilting, cooking, making costumes for the children in the church and she loved bible study. Let’s not forget the fish fry’s at the cabin, fishing with family and her passion for quilting.

Our mother was one of the strongest women and her greatest strength was her LOVE for others. She was resilient, selfless, patient and had a willingness to always put others first.

Anita is survived by her son, Mike Jacobson (Linda), Cindy, Jeanine Cody (Bob) and Dora Bauer (Steve); eleven grandchildren, Jon (April), Matt (Terrin), Bryan (Kelly), Jeremy (Lori), Jenny (Joe), Josh (Gretchen), Ashley (John), Emily, Jordon (Mallory), Madison and Billy. Twenty-two great grandchildren; Caleb, Amber, Alivia, Lola, Hazel, William, Molly, Kelsey, Shannon, Jackson, Shay, Jayden, Carter, Connor, Kyla, Lily, Mason, Brooks, Cruz and Hayes and other relatives and friends.

Anita, our wonderful mother died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday morning, April 17, 2025 at the age of 92.

A visitation will take place on May 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, both held at Siren United Methodist Church, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Anita's remarkable life and legacy. Please join the family for luncheon directly after the service at Steve and Dora's Cabin.

While we mourn the loss of our mother, we also celebrate the love, compassion, and joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
