In Memory of Arvena Borgen


April 18, 1928 - June 22, 2021

Arvena J. Borgen, age 92, of New Richmond and formerly of Dallas, WI was called home by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday evening, June 22, 2021. She passed on peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 18, 1928 to Arvid and Lillian (Johnson) Lundholm. She graduated from Chetek High School in 1945.

On April 18, 1948 she married Arlie Borgen and they raised 5 children. After many years as a homemaker and farmer’s wife, Arvena switched occupations to work at Barron County Social Services where she had a twenty plus year career. She was also an active member of the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Women’s Auxiliary and attended many national conventions where she supported Arlie’s role as WI State President/Delegate. In her spare time after retirement, Arvena had many interests and hobbies that included golfing, bicycling, running and reading. She was a member

Arvena was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Arlie, infant grandson: Nicholas, step-mother: Theresa (Johnson) Lundholm, brothers: Woodrow (Marcella), Eugene, Lawrence, Douglas (Loretta) and Ove, brother-in-law: Bill Labude, step-sisters: Arlene Skjerly, Millie Christianson, Judy Hanson and Dona Neby. She is survived by her five children: Barbara Weisser, Bruce (Judy) Borgen, Janet (Steve) Miller, Brian (Anita) Borgen and Sandy (Scott) Anderson, sisters: Laverna (Bill) Thompson and Jean Labude, sister-in-law: Fern Lundholm, step-sisters: Carolyn Cizek, Leona Puppe and Betty Rockow, step-brother: Bob Johnson, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 10 at Chetek Lutheran Church with John Kurschner officiating. Visitation will be held for the hour prior services at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service at Dallas Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Pine Crest Golf Course in Dallas for all family & friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the compassionate care Arvena received at The Deerfield in New Richmond. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
