In Memory of Audrey Coe


February 9, 1928 - June 17, 2019

Audrey Heyes Coe Age 91, of Rice Lake, WI, died Monday, June 17, 2019, at Woodstone Senior Living in Rice Lake.

She was born on February 9, 1928, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Rev. Arthur and Ethel Heyes. Audrey graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1945, and then attended and graduated from UW-Madison in 1949 with an education degree. She was married to Edward J. Coe on August 22, 1950, in Mauston, WI. After teaching home economics for several years in Mauston and Shullsburg, WI, Audrey and Edward began their family. She enjoyed traveling, camping and being with her family. Audrey made a mean loaf of bread. She was active in Rice Lake PEO, Presbyterian Women, Fortnightly, and an active volunteer throughout the community.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Linda) Coe of Rice Lake, Barbara (Alan) Wessel of Long Prairie, MN, David (Louise) Coe of Reno, Nevada and Paul Coe (Sharon Rolenc) of Minneapolis, MN; her sister Sister Monica Mary (Sister of the Transfiguration of Episcopal Religious Community) of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren, Stephanie Coe (Seth Quiggle), Vanessa (Jay) Gagner, Anne Hodges, Leah (Tom) St. Marie, Matt Coe, Sam Coe, Kate (Zach) Hintermeister, Keegan Rolenc and Moira Coe; her great grandchildren, Elle Hodges, Adeline Gagner and Stella Hintermeister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Coe; her parents; and 2 brothers, William and Phillip.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, July 8, 2019, at the United Presbyterian Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Chris McCurdy officiating, with interment in the Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 9-11AM prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the United Presbyterian Church of Rice Lake.
