Barbara Elizabeth Ryan (Brindle), age 80, of St. Croix Falls, WI died at home on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

She was born in St. Paul, MN in 1945 to Estyre and Norman Brindle. As a child, Barbara studied dance and became an instructor at the Estyre Brindle Dance Theatre in St. Paul.

Barbara attended college at Hamline University and graduated with a master’s degree in social work from the University of Madison. She had a long and rewarding career working with children and ended her working career as a highly valued instructor at San Diego State University in California. Teaching and social work were her life’s work, and she loved every minute of being of service to others.

Barbara adored her nieces and nephews and all children. She loved to travel with her loving husband, John. Together, they were involved constantly in a great deal of causes, and philanthropy. Barbara recently moved to Wisconsin with her nephew, Nick Prill from her home of many years in San Diego, California.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Ryan. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and wonderful, loyal friends. She is now in heaven with her husband as she knows Jesus as her Savior.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Celebration of Barbara’s life to be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 1918 140th Avenue in St. Croix Falls, WI. An additional celebration will be held for Barbara Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Fillippi’s Pizza Grotto, 10330 Friars Road, San Diego, California.
