In Memory of Barbara Gronning

July 2, 1951 - February 17, 2022

Barbara Jean “Barb” Gronning, 70, of Shell Lake passed away on Thursday, February 17th, 2022 at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She found peace surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born July 2nd, 1951, in Shell Lake, Wisconsin to John and Verjean Schullo.

Barb lived in Shell Lake nearly all her life. She graduated from Shell Lake High School, worked in the family business for years before changing careers and working in the food processing industry until her retirement. Not one to sit idle, and feeling the need to be outdoors, she returned to work part-time at a local greenhouse where she enjoyed her summers.

Barb loved working with her hands and was constantly exploring new crafting ideas. Her friends and acquaintances are familiar with the beaded jewelry and beautiful stained-glass ornamentals she created. Many also unknowingly enjoyed her work around Christmas time as businesses and homes in the area displayed her hand-woven wreaths during the holiday season.

Barb will be remembered for her caring nature and infectious laughter. Barb would regularly adopt animals and care for them…creating a small farm at her home with her husband Garry. She enjoyed caring for her many pets and they returned the favor by bringing her pure joy.

Barb is survived by her loving husband Garry of Shell Lake; her son Andrew (Luiza) Nelson of Appleton, three grandchildren, Izabelle, Logan and Luke; her mother Verjean Schullo of Shell Lake; her brother John (Danielle Peterson Slinker) Schullo of Shell Lake; former sister-in-law Susie Trudelle of Spooner; nephews, cousins and loved family and friends as well as her beloved pets and animals.

Barb was preceded in death by her father, John Schullo.

The funeral service for Barbara will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the APOSTOLIC LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH, W5685 Trego River Street, Trego, Wisconsin 54888.
