In Memory of Ben Egerman

July 19, 1955 - September 21, 2021

Ben Egerman, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, died unexpectedly on September 21st after a short illness.

Born in St. Cloud, MN, Ben graduated from Brainerd High School and soon after moved to Jacksonville Florida where he trained and practiced as an electrician. During his years in Florida, he met and married his former wife, Vikki, and they raised three children together.

Ben returned to his home state of Minnesota in 2005 and later moved to Balsam Lake Wisconsin to manage the Dream Catcher Inn on Indianhead Shores Drive.

As a gracious and welcoming host, Ben found pleasure in meeting, greeting, and doting on Dream Catcher guests. He couldn’t resist a child’s request to put up the water slide, and he willingly offered his pontoon and fishing equipment to young fishing enthusiasts. His beloved beagle, Elwood, was his constant companion. Ben was a mentor, a fixer, and a wonderful companion to many.

Ben is survived by daughter Barrett Goldberg (grandchildren Beatrice and Hugo), daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Mark Fournier (grandchildren Fox and Maple), son and daughter-in-law Eric and Hailey Egerman (grandchildren Ethan, Benny, and soon-to-be-born daughter Emrie).

Ben also is survived by his five sisters, Susan Egerman (Sig Soli), Mary (Peter) Petersen, Jean Egerman (Michael Jekot), JoAnn Parnell (Tom), and Margaret Holter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Egerman and his father, Robert Egerman.

Ben loved NASCAR, Westerns, coca-cola and grilling for a crowd. He was a favorite uncle, and his willingness to help others was a trademark of his remarkable journey.

Join us for a celebration of his life on Sunday, October 3rd, 1-3 pm at the Dream Catcher Inn, 109 Indianhead Shores Drive.
