Bernice Marie Schafer, 77, of Cumberland died Monday, December 16, 2019, at Cumberland Healthcare. She was born June 20, 1942, in Eau Galle, WI to Laverne and Mary (Bauer) Schafer.

Bernice was a diehard Green Bay Packers and Elvis fan. Her love for the Packers would empower her to keep control of the TV until the game was over. She loved to play cards. Bernice had a strong faith and enjoyed singing in the choir at church for many years.

She is survived by sisters: Ruth Schafer, Marge Capes, and Jean Erlewine; step-siblings: Nancy Zappa, Jackie Manke, and Dick De Dominces; nephew, Phillip Capes; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lavern and Mary Schafer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 30, 2019, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Eau Gallie Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be from one hour prior to the service.
