Betty J. Blihovde, age 83, of Barron, passed away on July 4, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

She was born March 4, 1943, to Dorotha Conrad in Barron; attended school in Barron until her junior year when she, her brother and her mother moved to Duluth, where she graduated from Duluth Central High.

On December 30, 1961 she married Ron Blihovde, they were married for 56 years before Ron passed away in 2018. She worked at Barron Medical Center for 27 years and she and Dad owned vans and drove for Barron County Day Development for 13 years.

They enjoyed many camping trips west and southwest when their boys were young and for many years after they were grown and away from home. Mom enjoyed watching football but didn’t understand anything about it so she had to call one of us during the game, asking questions.

She is survived by her sons, Steve and Rod; grandchildren, Grant, Evan, Kendra and Brandon; great-granddaughters, Alena, Evalynn and Elanor; as well as a brother, Chuck Conrad.

She was preceded in death by her mother and husband, Ronald.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Barron. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
