Beulah Jevon Ecklund (Bakken), age 99, of Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on June 27, 2026 in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Beulah was born on February 18, 1927 in Rothsay, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betsy Bakken; husband, James P.J. Ecklund; brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Gloria Bakken; her nephew, Terry Bakken; and her companion, her dog Izzy.

She is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

Beulah worked as a manager at Barb’s dress shop in Saint Croix Falls during most of her working years, after spending many years in Minneapolis where she thoroughly enjoyed living in the city, biking the streets and meeting her husband Jim there. They found property in Saint Croix Falls, moved there, and built a unique and gorgeous home in the woods. They had a wonderful life there making meals for friends and family, a haven for unwanted dogs, and tending to the garden they had on their land.

Once her husband, Jim, passed she had the pleasurable company of her dog Izzy, as well as her neighbors who took great care of Izzy and Beulah. She lived alone in her two-story home, until she was 99. She was an impressive woman no doubt about it, who after every fall, made it back to her cozy home in the country.

Beulah had a spirit that was so warm, it called to you to stay awhile and soak up her presence.

She lived a full life and relished in all of life’s simple pleasures.

A person who believed in taking the river road, sitting on your porch listening to the birds, and the importance of dessert.

She had the sweetness of any and everything you have encountered in your life that was felt so light and

Had the stubbornness of a Norwegian woman who has lived through decades of world change.

Everything was just so, till the day she died.

She cared.

She always cared.

About her friends' lives, how her family members were doing, the food that was being served, the way she dressed, the treats in her fridge to give to guests, her flowers on her porch.

She cared deeply about all the little things that matter in this life,

She weathered through many storms in life and worked very hard till her very last day to see the good wherever she was at.

She was a special woman.

She knew and made everyone feel special and every visit with her, no matter the grandness or lack there of, felt so special.

She had a beautiful soul, to extend beyond her beliefs, her struggles, her longings and always accept people and welcome them into her home and heart.

That's how she will be remembered.

She lived a life to be proud of.

She was a person that all who had the privilege to know her, are proud to be loved by her.

Beulah’s family want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Adorary Home Health & Hospice care team; Nicole and Felicia (RN) and Mandy (aid) for such quality compassionate care Beulah received, and also to Care In Motion Homecare and Cassie (aid).

It was her wish to die in the comfort of her home and thanks to her family members and Adorary for being able to honor that.

No funeral or visitation service will be held per Beulah’s wishes.
