In Memory of Bonnie Ann Plath

July 24, 1929 - November 5, 2022

Bonnie Ann Plath, 93, of Amery, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at Golden Age Manor with her loving family by her side on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Bonnie was born on July 24, 1929 in Spencer, WI to Frank and Minnie Oelrich, the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Spencer High School and on February 3, 1951 was united in marriage to William (Bill) J. Plath, Jr. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, WI.

She moved to Lac du Flambeau, WI where Bill was a teacher and lived there for 20 years. She worked as a waitress at a local supper club and raised her three children Douglas, Richard and Cheryl.

In 1970, the family moved to Webster, WI where they bought a home on the north shore of Big Yellow Lake. Bonnie worked as a waitress and for many years worked at the Oakland Store in Danbury. They continued to enjoy their lake home for 45 years with family and friends. In their retirement years they enjoyed taking a few months off wintering in Gulf Shores, Alabama where the grandchildren would take turns visiting and playing many games of Skip-bo.

After selling their lake home, Bonnie and Bill moved to Amery in 2014 and resided at Evergreen Apartments. They enjoyed many wonderful years and loved when someone would stop by for a visit. Bonnie continued to live there after Bill’s death in 2015. She was a resident of Golden Age Manor for the past year.

Bonnie cherished the time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had a cookie in the cookie jar or an egg sandwich in the pan so no one would go away hungry! There was always a fridge stocked with mini candy bars and cans of pop for the grandkids and friends as well. She also enjoyed flower gardening and taking a little ride to do some shopping or eating out.

Bonnie is lovingly survived by her children, Doug (Linda) Plath of Webster, Dick (Launa) Plath of Princeton, MN and Cheri (Mike) Stromberg of Webster. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Josh (Sabrena) Plath, Lisa Sigfrids, Heidi Stromberg, Deanna (Jeremy) Grabow, Tiffany (Eric) Sand, Trisha (Bob) Nichols, Aaron (Caitlin) Stromberg, Dana (Justin) Reese, Eric (Meaghan) Plath; great-grandchildren, Bradley, Jake, Kyle, Auston, Emma, Rebecca, Alyvia, Jacob, Gavin, Rylee, Grace, Gracie, William, Macy, Addison, Caroline, Luke, James, Ava, Melody, Ellie, Jordie, Reagan, Charlie and Eva; as well as many nieces, nephews; and other family and friends.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Bill; three sisters; and three brothers.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9 from 4-7pm at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, WI. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11AM (visitation from 10-11AM) at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Amery, WI with Pastor Keith Ruehlow officiating. Interment will be held at the Northern Wisconsin State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
