Bonnie Jean Plockelman, age 82, of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Diagnosed in 2020, Bonnie spent her final years lovingly cared for by her husband, Vic. They were always a team, and he continued to bake homemade cinnamon and pumpkin breads from scratch, simple acts of devotion inspired by how much she loved them. Though Alzheimer’s affected many parts of her life, it never took away Bonnie’s laughter, her love of music, or her remarkable capacity to give and receive love.

Bonnie was an active member of her community beginning at age ten, when she joined the Deertail 4-H Club. She later served on the State 4-H Council, toured the State Fair with Governor Nelson, and participated in the State 4-H Band. She loved her grandkids deeply, cherished her homemakers group, The Baker’s Dozen, taught aerobics, and played the organ at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She held a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and enjoyed a dedicated teaching career, beginning in Exeland and finishing at Ladysmith Middle School before her retirement in 2000.

Bonnie loved adventure and traveled extensively with her family. Some of her favorite destinations took her to New York, Australia, Italy, Colorado, Las Vegas, and Alaska.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Vic; daughters Vicki (Scott) Mohr and Haylee (Paul) Lytle, and a son, Mike (Jenn) Plockelman; eight grandchildren: Taylor and Javen Lytle, Ryan, Kate, and Carly Mohr, Hannah (Alex) Saunders, Abbie and Alex Plockelman; five siblings: Ann (Jim) Kobielush, Karen (Charles) Paulin, Tom (Marcy) Christman, Ed (Suk) Christman, and Debra (Dennis) Flater. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Inez Christman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ladysmith, WI, with Pastor Craig Zandi officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, followed by a meal after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
