In Memory of Brenda L. Powers

April 17, 1957 - June 25, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Brenda Lee Powers, 68, of Eau Claire, WI.

Brenda passed away peacefully at home on June 25th, 2025. She was born in Shell Lake, WI, April 17th, 1957, to Herbert and Norma Powers. She attended Northwood High School and CVTC and University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. She is survived by her life partner of 41 years, John Webber, daughter Amanda Proue (Todd Hebert), Eau Claire, brothers Timothy Powers, Pine City, MN. and Erik Celentano, Sunny Isles Beach, FL., sisters Andrea (Tom) Oden, McGregor, MN and DeAnna Powers, also of McGregor, MN. Granddaughter Alicia Powers, grandsons Braylen and Cyler Wiebold and great-grandson Jonathan Negrete Powers.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Norma, son Kenneth Powers and sister Jody Powers Blok.

Brenda was a loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were particularly bright spots in her life. She delighted in spending time with, caring for and showing them the wonders of nature.

Brenda’s life revolved around all things outdoors. She was an avid canoeist and camper. The quintessential “Namakagon Woman.” A nurturer of all manner of plants and animals, she could often be found tending her perennial garden or taking Bear (the dog) for walks.

Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be sorely missed.

For several years Brenda served as a volunteer, rehabilitating injured and orphaned wild animals. There was seldom a dull moment around the house.

Considering her love for all creatures great and small, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Chippewa Valley Wildlife Rehabilitation. Link: chippewavalleywildlife.com/i-would-like-to-make-a-donation/

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at Stokes Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel (535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona, WI. 54720) on Saturday July 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M.
