Brian J. Wirth, age 73, of Ridgeland, WI passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, May 3, 2026. He was born September 17, 1952 in Eau Claire, WI to Richard and Melva (Rear) Wirth. He had 4 siblings including his sister: Candace & brothers: Craig, Gregory and Roger. He graduated from Barron High School in 1970 & married his true love, Kathy Lynch, on October 17 of the same year. They had 2 children, Kristin & Jason.

Brian lived in Ridgeland most all of his life. He went to work for Fisher Construction in the Twin Cities for 5 years commuting back and forth, coming home on weekends.

In 1976 Brian & his brother Craig started Wirth Brothers Excavating, operating for 40 years. He truly loved the jobs and customers, giving him great satisfaction when things were done right.

Brian still enjoyed working every day for Jason & his nephew Barry & doing his beloved bookwork. He was such a hard worker, always trying to provide the very best for his family.

Brian loved riding his Harley almost as much as he loved working. He has been on so many memorable trips to so many places with the very best of friends. He also enjoyed all of the vacations they went on from Hawaii to the Dominican & everywhere in between. As long as it wasn't for much more than a week because there was work to do. He enjoyed opening trout fishing & trolling on the lake. He took the grandkids to Canada & Devil's Lake for the most memorable stories to be retold. He loved deer hunting & getting together to tell the end of the day tales.

Brian was a life-long member of St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church & council member. He served on the Ridgeland Fair Board & he was a dedicated community member always wanting to see our town prosper.

Brian was preceded in death by his wife: Kathy, parents: Richard & Melva, infant sister: Candace, brothers: Craig & Roger Wirth, & mother & father-in-law: Grant & Dolores Lynch. Surviving are his daughter: Kristin (Blaine) Huset, son: Jason Wirth (Ashley Glaser), grandchildren: Brittany Huset (David Espey), Jay (Lyla) Huset, Nikki (Eric) Armstrong & Kasen Armstrong, brother: Gregory (Paulie) Wirth, sisters-in-law: LeeAnn & Judy Wirth, Patti Rutherford (Rick), Marcia (Ron) Friedell & Gail (Rolfe) Anderson, as well as many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Prairie Farm with Rev. Roger Quandt officiating & interment following in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 10 at the Ridgeland Community Center & also for the hour prior to services at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Ridgeland Community Center.
