In Memory of Bruce A. Doane

November 5, 1936 - June 22, 2022

Our beloved father and grandfather Bruce A. Doane passed away unexpectantly due to complications of Covid-19 on June 21, 2022.

Bruce was born on November 5, 1936, in Stoughton, Wisconsin to Claire and Bernice (Whaley) Doane.

He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1955. He was in the Notional Guards for 9 years.

He was married to Joanne Effinger on September 18, 1965.

Bruce worked and retired from Stoughton Trailers where he was a tool and die maker.

Bruce loved the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He loved bagging the “big” one and was doing just that days before his passing. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and was a fan for his whole life. He enjoyed playing 500 Rummy even though most of the time he would get beat by his good friend Betty Green. Above all, the most important thing to him was enjoying time spent with his family.

He leaves to celebrate his memory, son Todd (Lisa Walker) Doane of Chetek, daughter Kimberly (Nathan) Rich of Barron, grandchildren Amber OConnell, Andrew Doane, Nicole Doane, and Dawson (Kimberly) Rich, all of Rice Lake, and great-grandchildren Carter Kirby and Rosalee Rich. His sister Donna Peterson, niece Kristi Jensen, nephew Eric Peterson and daughter-in-law Mary Doane.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claire and Bernice Doane, and his wife of 54 years Joanne Doane.

He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

A visitation will be held at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Towering Pines Community Church in Cameron, Wisconsin on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation being held prior from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.

He will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery following the Funeral Service.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
